Sport Ireland Meath Heritage Cycle tour
July 29 & July 30
Event Navigation

The Sport Ireland Meath Heritage cycle tour is part of Sport Ireland cycle series (formerly known as the An Post Cycle Series) which takes place annually over the summer months commencing in May and ending in September. The other 4 counties involved in the series are: Clare, Sligo, Waterford & Cork.
Our cycle tour consists of 4 different distances and takes place over the last weekend in July. The 4 distances are designed to suit all cycling abilities – 11km Family spin; 50km Tara Loop; 100km Royal Tour & 160km Royal Challenge.
The 4 distances, in particular route selection and food/water stops are chosen to showcase a particular area`s heritage attractions, natural and built environment and scenic aesthetics. Where possible the routes include areas of importance in terms of heritage and historical significance. This year included the hills of Meath – Tara, Skryne & Slane; with water/food stop on Tara. Castle Street in Trim (in the shadows of the impressive St John`s Castle) and the Hill of Tara have been part of the cycle tour since year one.
Early bird now open – see www.meathsport.ie for further details. No registration on weekend of the event – entries close once routes reach capacity.
