In July 2016, David Catherwood, a highly valued member of the Cycle4Christ (C4C) Cycling Club, was tragically killed while cycling. In July 2017, in his memory, C4C organised the inaugural David Catherwood Memorial Sportive. C4C are planning to run the sportive again in July 2019. There are two routes available – 61 miles (one mile for each year of David’s life) and a shorter 34 mile route. This is the 10th and final edition of the annual cycle which commemorates the sad passing of a founding member of the Valley Wheelers Cycling Club. The cycle which is fully supported with service backup and food stops in an excellent challenge for the experienced and not so experienced cyclist.
