Lachlan Completes his alt Tour de France ride!

Australian rider Lachlan Morton has completed his Tour De France route ultra-endurance ride, reaching Paris and completing the final stage on the Champs Elysées early on Tuesday morning July 13th, five days ahead of the Tour, which will reach Paris on Sunday.

As he was completing the entire route, including the transfer sections which the Tour riders will cover in planes trains and automobiles, he covered 5,510km instead of the Tour route’s 3,383 km with 65,500-meters of elevation gain compared to the Tours 42,200 m.
After 18 days without a rest day, riding solo and unsupported, sometimes riding through the night and sleeping in his tent, fixing his own punctures and mechanicals along the way, feeding himself by cooking on the side of the road or in restaurants, a sore an exhausted Lachlan has now reached the Champs-Élysées

He’s ridden two Tour stages in one day, been sunburned and soaked by the rain, he’s suffered blisters and knee pain which he dealt with by swapping out his cycling shoes for sandals and switching to flat pedals.
Unsupported, he’s gone over the Alps, the Pyrenees and the mighty Ventoux, suffering multiple punctures along the way.
But he persevered and the EF Education–Nippo rider has so far raised over €430,000 for the World Bicycle Relief charity.
What a ride!
